Superb Mbappé leads PSG to win over Reims

Mbappé’s second goal against Reims

Mbappé has scored a hattrick to secure a comfortable 3-0 victory at Reims.

The France skipper came into the game with a battle for self confidence after going two games in a row without a goal.

A lot of people expected much from teenage sensation Zaïre Emery.

However, Mbappé didn’t wait beyond three minutes to fire a volley into the near post.

Reims would put some pressure on Paris Saint-Germain but Donnarumma kept all their efforts away from his goal.

At Halftime it was 1-0 for PSG.

Mbappé and Dembelé would make a few mistakes in the second half that drew the back from inflating the number but it was not going to last forever as Mbappé would fire in his second goal of the day at the 59th minute.

At this point many fans knew it was going to be a party for Mbappé although they didn’t know when the third goal would come.

And Indeed Mbappé had good news for them at the 82nd minute.

At 3-0 all doors had been closed for Reims although Donnarumma had to keep his clean sheet as his own little way of celebrating the night.

A few moments later Mbappé came very close to making it 4 nil before his effort was blocked by the woodwork.
Even earlier he had missed another opportunity thanks to a great save from Reims goalie.

Mbappé also finished some fine dribbles and passes that set his fans roaring. Earlier in the first half, it was a superb nutmeg before a smart blind backward pass.

In 90 minutes, Mbappé recorded nine shots, three goals, and got a 4.7 star rating, the highest ahead of Donnarumma who grabbed six saves.

As it stands PSG top Ligue 1 while Mbappé remains the undisputed top scorer with 13 league goals this season.

At some point Mbappé looked unhappy with Ousman Dembelé whose passes came late sometimes.

As matter of fact, Dembelé hasn’t understood Mbappé enough to suck all the talent from the PSG all time top scorer.

Mbappé’s greatest weapon is his pace and Dembelé has to exploit it to the fullest in counter attacks. He must understand that Mbappé needs long balls to outpace the defenders and score.

Pogba understood this very well and used it to break through Argentina’s defense at the 2018 World Cup.
